About Me and my Vision

Hans Erickson earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Animation at Missouri State University at the age of 71 after retiring from construction management.  He is presently earning his Master of Science degree in Digital Cultural Preservation and is expected to graduate May of 2021.  He is specializing in recreating historical events, architecture, monuments and artifacts in virtual 3D space using animation, game engines, virtual and augmented reality.  In the past he created his BFA portfolio and worked as the lead texture artist for the Short Film Recoiled. Presently he is creating a virtual museum featuring ancient Mesoamerican artifacts for use in education.  His future project will include a digital recreation of the Plaza Mayor of Antigua, Guatemala before its destruction during the earthquake of 1773 and is working with the research group Præteritas Urbes, LLC.
